Jewish leaders oppose Ahmadinejad at Rio summit

Iranian’s president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, will be in Rio next week for a UN summit on sustainable development.

Jewish leaders in Latin America are urging Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff to not meet with the Iranian leader. They also object to Ahmadinnejad’s presence because he denies the Holocaust and because they believe Iran is developing nuclear weapons.

Many years ago someone sent me a study done on anti semitism and hispanics. It seems that anti semitism among hispanics in the US is no higher than anti semitism among other groups in the US. However, when you leave the borders of the US anti semitism among hispanics is off the charts.

Whether we like it or not Ahmadinejad is the leader of a country and as such must be respected. Jewish leaders in latin America who don’t get this are in for a world of hurt. I can hear the shouts now of “THE JEWS CONTROL THE WORLD.” Is that what we want? Do we really want to usher in the 1930s again?
