Octavia Nasr blames ‘Zionist lobby’ for CNN dismissal

Octavia Nasr, who lost her job at CNN after tweeting her respect for Muslim cleric Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah is blaming the “Zionist lobby” for her dismissal.

Nasr’s comments come in an interview with Asharq Al-Awssat. She had served as CNN’s senior Middle East affairs editor until her firing nearly one year ago.

Fadlallah, who died July 4, 2010, was sometimes referred to as Hezbollah’s spiritual leader, though there is some disputing of that label. Nasr’s tweeted comments upon his death were criticized by some in the Jewish community who interpreted it as, by extension, her supporting the terrorist organization.
